NEW {Sept 2015} Products: Eclectica³ Clare Lloyd

Hi Everyone,

Leandra here, joined by Clare Lloyd to introduce you to the newest stamp addition to her Eclectica³ {Clare Lloyd} Collection. I adore Clare's whimsical style, and there is some awesome humour in the words that accompany these stamps which I think the sample-makers below have illustrated perfectly!

Here's a video introduction and some of the samples using these new stamps for you to check out!

So lets take a closer look at the stamps

As ever, we always have some super talented crafts who volunteer to help us work with our newest stamps.

Tonight we start with  Catherine Carter.

Treat Bag Tags {using ECL07 by Catherine Carter}

I loved these stripey tights and shoes images. The shoes just had to sparkle and I made these little tags perfect for treat bags.

Purrrfect Trio Card {using ECL07 by Catherine Carter}

These super cute cats all stamped in a row made a purrrfect (tee hee) card! I really had fun with these witches cat and hats.

Bottle Bag Tag {using ECL08 by Catherine Carter}

Such a fun festive quote just had to be made into a tag for a bottle of vino. I added some sparkle using glittery stickles.

Jolly Holly Girl {using ECL08 by Catherine Carter}

I found the little holly image such a great way of embellishing my projects. I created a master board using Fresco paints such a quick way of making lots of cards/tags at a busy time of year.

Next up we have Chris Cresswell.

Kraft Christmas Card {using ECL08 by Chris Cresswell}

This card is inspired by Jo a Firth Young. She uses white embossing on Kraft card a lot, especially with her Christmas stamps, and now I love doing the same! With a bit of glitter of course! .

Ice Princess Tag {using ECL08 by Chris Cresswell}

The main focus in the Christmas set is the girl image. My first thoughts were that she oozes 'ice princess' although she's an angel! So I only wanted to use blue, jade and white! I've been doing some collage work recently so wanted to add collage to the tag.

Gothic Girl {using ECL07 by Chris Cresswell}

I adore this little cat and knew immediately that I wanted him to wear the hat, not the girl. They are the perfect size to fit under the Gothic arch stencil!

Simply Legs Card {using ECL07 by Chris Cresswell}

I really love these stripy legs and pointy shoes and felt they just cried out to be repeat stamped. So spooky!

Our third contributor tonight is Anneke De Clerck.

Angel {using ECL08 by Anneke De Clerck}

The ECL08 stamp set is so versatile. With the wings from the set I transformed the girl into an angel.

I love working with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics. The soft colors and chalk finish make them the perfect medium for wintery themed cards/art journal pages.

Let it Snow {using ECL08 by Anneke De Clerck}

I'm fond of decorating dresses, read fiddling :) On this one I used gel medium in combination with Art Sugar. For the collar and belt I crumpled some vintage book text.

To achieve a minimalistic look I stamped the face on vintage book text and simply added some shadow/highlights.

Christmas Card {using ECL08 by Anneke De Clerck}

I created the background with painted tissue paper and added some wooden trees. The small circles from the ECL08 set are perfect to decorate Christmas trees. The girl looks great with that Santa hat on, doesn't she :) I used Flower Soft to decorate her hat and collar.

And the tail end charlie tonight is Lauren Hatwell .

Spooky! {using ECL07 by Lauren Hatwell}

Clare's images are so beautifully drawn. They're a joy to colour in and alter any way I choose. The possibilities are endless.

Broom to Match (using ECL07 by Lauren Hatwell)

I really had so much fun with these stamps. I've used minimal tweaks with the colouring and a couple of details to turn her into Glam Witch.

White Christmas {using ECL08 by Lauren Hatwell}

I couldn't resist colouring the lovely party girl in twice. The snowballs are a really useful element and make great Christmas baubles.

Ice Queen {using EDC08 by Lauren Hatwell}

I confess I got completely carried away when I was making  this acrylic tag. It's got everything I could think of to give it icey sparkle: Glass Bead Glitter Gel, the fab new Frosting Glaze and good old fashioned glitter glue. I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

Now lets see what Clare Lloyd has been up to with her own stamps. As you know Clare quite likes to colour faces and add to simple almost rustic but bright backgrounds. Nothing is overly polished, and the way she pulls things together just oozes personality, and makes you feel like anything is possible in a blink....I'll leave you in her capable hands...

Hello everyone, Clare here.

I am so pleased to be launching 2 new stamp designs this evening. The first design with a Halloween theme has versatility for journalling beyond October and the girl doesn't have to be a witch at all! My wintry Christmas design with lots of elements means the girl can transform into an angel, a merry (hic!) girl or just be out on a festive walk through the snow. I tried to design images that had plenty of scope for masking and layering up into projects. I love a play on words as most of you will know by now, so found some fun quotes to add to your finished projects.

I've made a couple of projects for you tonight with a few step outs so you can see the process.

Project One: Spooky Row Houses

I used some fab stencils by Emma and one of my favourite little stamping techniques...ink the stamp once and then stamp continuously creating a fade out ombre effect.

Then I created some Limelight washi tape by painting onto copier paper and doing some stamping.

Lots of layering of coloured images and sentiments using foam pads. Simply mounted onto black card to make my spooky row houses.

Project Two: Let it Snow

You can see how I masked the hat onto her head below. Stamp the hat onto your card first, and then stamp it again onto another piece of scrap paper to make a mask. Now you can stamp the girl'd head on top of the mask, adjusting the angle to suit the hat on her head fits, then lift off the hat mask to see how well you did. She was coloured with alcohol pens as a base and then some colour pencils for shading. As I knew I wasn't cutting her out, I wasn't too particular about staying inside the lines as I coloured.

I simply applied a quick mixed-up layer of Mermaid and Antarctic for the sky. Then snowflakes were embossed in white, as were the snowballs onto card painted with Snowflake...aptly enough!

I can't wait to see what you will do with these new designs. That is the best bit about designing for PaperArtsy...seeing what others do with your designs!

Happy Crafting,

Clare.
Find me on my blog and Instagram.

Wow! What a fabulous blog post from Clare and her guests! I love how she has designed her stamps to be suitable for the upcoming seasonal period and also work for the rest of the year too! Just what we need for that maximum versatility. Such a shame Anneke's projects didn't make it from Belgium to HQ in time for the video filming, but we had a hiccup with the post when sending the stamps to her which created a delay for stuff coming back to us. Our fault not hers!

Take a moment to leave a comment for Clare. She is itching to know what you think about these new releases.  Also if you have time, go to each blog of the creatives above as there will be more detail there about how they made their gorgeous and very clever samples.

Love, love, love the Christmas stamps. I bought them at Port Sunlight and can't wait to play with them such a versatile set, that can be used at other times of the yer, other than Christmas. Thank you Leandra for the time you spent with me at Port Sunlight, explaining backgrounds for art journaling. I have played with your fab chalk paints, and produced some backgrounds I am much happier with.
