GD:Liesbeth Fidder #2 Altered Canvas [Part 1}

"Hi everyone, welcome back, Liesbeth here again. Today I'd like to show you how to make this wall hanging, a canvas. Today the background, tomorrow the flower image and how to finish it".

I started with stamping the women (2x) and the houses from the Lynne Perrella stamp set LPC028 (love it !!) onto thin tissue paper with Black StazOn Ink and tore them out.

I love the surface of the thin, flat canvas 8 x 8 inch.

At the bottom of the canvas, I glued down the images using a thin layer of Golden Regular Gel - Matte

After drying, I stamped some fragments of the map stamp from HotPick Xtra 01 here and there using StazOn Ink Jet Black.

The next layer I did was made with stencils : Mini Specimens and Mini Art Is.. and Fresco Finish Space Cadet and Mermaid as shown. I dried it well.

Then I started to apply colours (Fresco Finish). I watered down every colour I used, just like aquarel paint, starting with Yellow Submarine.

And a layer of watered down Hey Pesto. As you can see I didn't paint everything, I left some areas white/yellow.

And... Beach Hut, most of it at the edges, I kept the faces light.

I thought the background was a little overpowering, so I white washed it by using some watered down Snowflake to soften the background.

To create more layering I used the Art Is.. stencil again to paint some word fragments here and there with Mermaid paint...

... and stamped the text stamp (LPC028) a few times with black ink.

To create some depth, I finished by sponging the edges of the canvas with black ink. The background is ready.

I hope you will join me tomorrow, I will show you how to make a house flower on the canvas!

Leandra Says: it looks beautiful, the images on the tissue blend in so well! Love the painty layers.
Gillian Says: The collaged tissue background looks awesome, love the subtleness of the layered paint. can't wait to see where you go with this tomorrow.

Welcome Back GD: Liesbeth Fidder #1 Card Collage

Hi, it's Liesbeth here again for the 3rd time as a PaperArtsy Guest Designer! Today I'd like to show you how I made this card using just one stamp: the very beautiful collage stamp from LPC030

To create the background, I applied drops of Fresco Finish Paints - Blood Orange, Beach Hut, Yellow Submarine, Pea Coat and Hey Pesto onto the craft sheet. Theý're all translucent, that results in a wonderful effect with water in the next step.

I sprayed a generous amount of water onto the paint and pressed two big pieces of Smoothy White Stamping Card (I used an A4 cut in half) I used the same paint 2 times.

I dried the papers well with my heat gun and stamped the big collage stamp onto both papers by using Archival Jet Black Ink.

I cut out the images about 1 mm inside the dotted lines. The reason I stamped and cut two times is to have a large choice, I chose the most beautiful images and the ones who mix the best together.

Onto a seperate piece of Smoothy paper I stamped the collage stamp once again and cut even edges.

I picked the best 16 stamped images and sponged the edges with some black ink to create some depth.

I glued the pieces onto the card, on their own spot.

To finish the card, I also cut out the stripe and the half circle (out of the painted background) at the left side and glued them down. I matted the card onto black, yellow and green cardstock.

Tomorrow I'll be back with another project, a canvas, with the same background technique, using the Fresco Finish Paints. Hope you will join me then!
