Journal Page {with Lynne Perrella & Ellen Vargo Stamps by Marjie Kemper}

Hello, everyone!  Marjie Kemper here, delighted to be back with another guest post, this time playing with new stamps designed by both Lynne Perrella and Ellen Vargo.

I started out working in the large Dylusions journal with the LPC030 set. From the moment these stamps arrived in the mail, I've had dozens of ideas on how to use them... there are so many images on that jumbo collage stamp, there are probably hundreds of ways to use it!
LPC030

I stamped it multiple times on both tissue paper and manila cardstock. My thought was to neatly trim it into strips and make a border frame around the edges of the pages, but then I decided to tear the images stamped onto tissue paper, and use them in the background instead. I really like the more organic shapes of the torn papers.

Here's how it looked with just some gesso and paint and the first layer of stamping.  Matte Medium adhered these fragile pieces quite nicely.

This lovely lady is from the LPC029 collection. She's quite large (as big as my hand) and I found using a brayer to be the best way to evenly coat all her raised parts for stamping

LPC029

I wanted her to have someone or something to look at across the page, and started making a multi-headed gal with the other female image that comes in that set.I added the fountain pen from LPC030 as legs.

Deciding it was a bit too strange for me today, I colored all three stamped faces and cascaded them instead, as if they were a bunch of individuals checking out the first gal, all alone on the left.

Wanting some of the jumbo collage pieces to "pop" off the page, I colored a few with Distress Markers and attached them on top of the tissue.

I filled in my background with Ellen Vargo's Lines (EEV05) and Circles (EEV06) stamp sets, and added some of Tim Holtz's Remnant Rubs as well as a bit of stenciling with archival ink.

The letters are a Sizzix die, and I textured them with one of Tim's new Texture Fade embossing folders.

I hope you enjoyed this peek in my journal.  If time allows, please visit me on my blog as well.

Thank you!

Marjie

A huge thank you to Marjie from all at PaperArtsy,we love this page, so many layers to look at. The cascading ladies are just wonderful  as are the huge bold letters, very striking. The use of Ellen's stamps in the background unifies everything and makes the two sides gel together.
