Abstract Journalling { With Ellen Vargo stamps by Emma Godfrey}

Hi everyone, it' Leandra here, and I'm typing up a post on behalf of Emma (senior elf) who is happily sunning herself in Portugal. No worry she'll come back to life with a solid thump when she arrives back at HQ next week! - she does not we won't be here and that she is in charge!
The day before she left for Portugal, we filmed a video with her to show the demos she did at the Big Stamping and Scrapbooking show, Ally Pally back in the early spring. She had not long before taken a lovely class at the Craft Barn taught by Sanda Reynolds and it had a big impact on Emma. She really enjoyed it and came back buzzing and thinking about how she could adapt the ideas to using a wide variety of PA products! I think Sanda already was using PA Paints, treasure gold, maybe Grunge, I'm not sure, but Emma went onto use JOFY stencils and paints made into sprays etc.

It's awesome when you are inspired by someone in this manner, and for Emma who tends to be more into Scrapbooking or clean and simple cards, this was a bit of a step out of her usual style, but she seems to have taken to it like a duck to water. I feel like she has come over to the other side! LOL PaperArtsyfying her. She has long be a PaperArtsy fan, but i think with these techniques, and her bright use of colour, she has found an aspect that fits her personally for cards, scrapbooking and more.

First I'll show you a few more pictures, then you can check out the video to see what she has done.

The background can be used for canvases, cards, layouts etc. Emma has added some typed text on top on this card below.

This one is in an ikea frame

Here she has made a mini book with a ribbon binding to the left out of shot

 And below are some of the samples from Ally Pally, the last one is the sample she made in the video

To define the edges of the bright pink focal point you could use graphite pencils, or Little black dress paint if you wish for a fine line than the portfolio crayons give.

So thanks Emma for your PaperArtsy video debut, I am sure there will be more in the future, you are a natural.

If you want to see Emma in action, then she will demoing with Darcy on the PaperArtsy stand, our usual spot, at the Doncaster Dome on Sunday June 8th 10-4pm for the Stamp Magic show. Its their 10th anniversary of the show, so lots of special things going on that day. We hope to see you there!

If you would like to join in our weekly challenge with any of this week's guests who have blogged since Sunday night, then join in to link up your creativity HERE you will go in the draw to win PA stamps of your choice! You need to link your entry by 17:00 (London time) Sunday 18th May 2014
